The Organ

The present organ was built by Hill Norman and Beard and completed in the church in 1960. It is a large two manuel instrument of some 47 stops and is on very light wind pressures. It has an unusual feature in that the horizontal Chamade reeds at the front are extremely rare in the United Kingdom. A Midi-Record and Playback system was installed in 2011 and a number of recorded recitals have now been made for use at weekends during Christmastide and the Summer months, so that the large number of visitors to the Priory church can hear the organ in situ during their visit.
