The Choir

TheChoirof St. Georges church, Dunster as it is today, was formed in October 2009, by the then Organist and Director of Music, Ralph S. Franklin who sadly died in July 2012. Our new Director of Music is Derek Mott and our choir leader is Monica Trenchard.
The fully robed choir sing on three Sundays in the month, the first and third for Holy Communion and the fourth for Morning Prayer.  The second Sunday is Church Family service with music provided by the children’s choir during term time.
The choir’s repertoire consists of music of all periods from Plainsong to that of living composers and is normally in between four to six parts.
Six or seven times a year there are fully ChoralServices: Two Choral Evensongs; a Choral Matins; the Palm Sunday preparationfor Holy week; and the two Candlelight services of Lessons and Carols for Advent and Christmas.
Choir rehearsals are on a Sunday lunchtime following the morning services where the choir are singing (1st, 3rd and 4thSundays) and we are always looking for new singers to join us who are available for Sunday services and rehearsals.  If you are interested please see Derek after one of the services:
